Andreas was born in Berlin in 1943 and immigrated to the United States in 1949.  After graduating from the University of Illinois, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru.  He has been an architect in California since 1972 and in Oregon since 1991, when he moved with his family from San Francisco to Neskowin.  In addition to his architectural practice, he served on the sewer board, was appointed by the County Commissioners to serve as vice-president of the Tillamook County Futures Council, and chaired the Land Use Committee of the Neskowin Vision Project, which was created to help Tillamook County’s periodic Review of Neskowin’s planning.

Andreas served as Chairman of the Land Use Committee in our Vision Process.  That committee’s work and recommendations received unanimous support from the Neskowin community as well as the Planning Commission. Andreas continues to have excellent rapport with County government and building officials.  He has experience on a wide variety of projects and building types — 20 years on the Oregon Coast, and 20 years in San Francisco.  He can provide common-sense solutions to problems of accessibility, structure, lighting, ergonomics and space utilization.

Not only has Andreas been an architect for over 40 years, he has also been a contractor and builder so he communicates well with those doing the actual labor.  He has a passion for environmental stewardship and focuses his design not only to serve the unique requirements of the inhabitants but to harmonize with the beauty and resources of the surrounding environment.

Andreas and his family currently live Salem, but kept their house in Neskowin, where he still does the bulk of his architectural work.  He is a member of the Neskowin Community Planning Advisory committee (CPAC,), which advises the County on planning issues relating to the community.  His architectural work focuses on environmentally conscious design.
